In the following dutch video story, Paul Emons (General Manager Noordhoff Beroepsonderwijs) talks more about the realisation of this unique project and the cooperation with AVEX.
At the end of January this year, Noordhoff opened its own virtual classroom in the centre of Utrecht. In a beautifully decorated physical classroom, teachers can experience for themselves what it is like to teach in the lecture hall of the future. Developments in education have gained momentum. Noordhoff wants to offer everyone in vocational education the opportunities to make education interactive. With the Barco weConnect solution, the Virtual Classroom has been realised. The Noordhoff Virtual Classroom accommodates 36 online participants who can actively participate during a lecture, presentation or webinar. There is an option for an unlimited number of participants to follow the lesson via a live stream. AVEX realised this project in a shop building near the Dom tower.
In practice, the Virtual Classroom offers much more interaction both audiovisually and technically. You can lecture as you would in the real world

Noordhoff was looking for new ways to offer teachers and directors in secondary and higher vocational education inspiration on innovative education.
That is why Noordhoff opened its own virtual classroom in an unexpected place: in the centre of Utrecht in the middle of a shopping street. The former shop building has been beautifully decorated as a physical classroom. Here, teachers can experience for themselves what it is like to teach in the lecture hall of the future.
