AVEX of Breukelen, the Netherlands, has been commissioned to equip eighteen of Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland’s operating rooms (ORs) with Sony’s NUCLeUS image routing system. These 18 operating rooms are partly located at the Franciscus Gasthuis site in Rotterdam and partly at the Vlietland site in Schiedam. This STZ Teaching Hospital has opted for the phased implementation of the image routing system in all its operating theatres during the next two years.
The NUCLeUS concept comprises a blend of smart and new technologies based on video over IP. It has a workflow that is attuned to the processes of the operating room. This ultimate solution for image routing also offers extensive possibilities for streaming images. For example, peer consultation between operating rooms. NUCLeUS integrates with hospital applications, such as the EPD and PACS systems, to create a complementary whole.
The main reason we chose Sony NUCLeUS is it extensive functionalities, which include Telestration and the Horizon correction App.
Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland selected AVEX on the basis of the concept offered, which fits seamlessly with the desired functionalities as described in the Schedule of Requirements (SoR). These also include system’s purchase, use, management and maintenance.
