Both companies have worked together in various market segments for many years, including the local-authorities market. By developing this new service the partners respond to the event market’s growing interest in affordable streaming services.
Increasingly live events are of a hybrid nature with a physical and an online audience. With streaming an event can be watched live online or afterwards by all those who are unable to attend in person. The event can also be rewatched over a longer period of time and the link can be shared with others on social media. Significant added value, as the reach becomes much greater and knowledge is retained. Willem Wijnands, Events and Hire Manager of AVEX, said “We have noticed that conventional high-end webcast services are still a bridge too far for many events. With this new streaming service, an event organiser can make the live event accessible to a broader audience at an acceptable additional cost. A report also provides the organisers with insight into essential information about viewing figures and viewers profiles.”
The event world does not yet manage to make the most of the opportunities offered by streaming, although both partners are noticing a change.
