On November 17, the world premiere of the new spectacular show HOLIDAY ON ICE: A NEW DAY took place in Germany.
AVEX is involved in this tour for the special LED decor and laser projection and is responsible for the delivery, installation and control of the content at 23 locations throughout Germany. The result is a breath-taking interplay between modern technology, impressive content and the incredible presentations of the artists on the ice!
We’ve actually managed to surpass everything before and created a show of superlatives with A NEW DAY
No fewer than 440 LED tiles, with a pixel pitch of 4.8 mm, can be found in the various LED arches around the staging area. In addition, a movable spherical door has been created that is fitted with LED tiles on both sides. A floating hemisphere can be seen in the middle above the ice floor, which is also fitted with LED tiles. In addition to the LED decor, we also provide DLP laser projection with 32,000 lumens, which makes a beautiful visual contribution to the show by projecting on the ice floor and controlling the 75 m2 transparent LED in a cylinder shape and the LED strings that are placed above and around the hanging ice floor.
With the use of this equipment, AVEX contributes to a picturesque staging that provides unique multidimensional live entertainment. With the use of technology, this not only takes place on and above the ice surface, but also around it. Due to the special light effects, which bear the unmistakable signature of the new creative director Francisco Negrin, the artists merge with the innovative sets and the imaginative and beautiful costumes into one living “Gesamtkunstwerk”.
We are proud to be able to contribute to this tour of HOLIDAY ON ICE. The intensive cooperation between our team and the technical team of the production has resulted in a spectacular show that you must see. I can’t wait for the tour to come to the Netherlands too!
Marjolein Koens-Schaddelee, Event Facilities Manager at AVEX, attended the world premiere together with AVEX colleagues René Doeser (account manager) and Arjen Pels (technical project manager). AVEX has signed a multi-year deal with HOLIDAY ON ICE for the tour of Europe.
From November to April, the new program will tour a total of 140 times through 23 locations across Germany. After that, the show will visit several European countries, including the Netherlands.
In the spectacular show, 40 of the world’s best figure skaters display athletics at the highest level. The most artistically and technically elaborated HOLIDAY ON ICE production to date is an invitation to celebrate together the magic of new beginnings, life and love.
