Last year, AVEX decided to give more structure to this support and we became an official supplier. This allows us to make an even better contribution to the foundation’s fantastic work. With three pillars: sports projects for children with disabilities, setting up sporting outdoor areas and social sports programmes, the Cruyff Foundation gives children room to play sports, move and develop. On Wednesday 21 September, Johan Cruyff’s ‘social legacy’ was celebrated. And of course, we were there.

2022 is a special year for all Johan Cruijff fans worldwide.
This year, the legend would have turned 75 years old, as well as the Cruyff Foundation’s 25th anniversary. To honour the legacy, the very first Cruyff Legacy Summit was organised on Wednesday September 21. The summit took place in the Johan Cruijff ArenA and was officially opened by the Dutch king, King Willem-Alexander.

Sky Sports presenter David Garrido hosted the summit. Sarina Wiegman, Jordi Cruyff, Ronald Koeman and Frank Rijkaard, among others, gave ‘talks’ on Johan’s view of sport and society. Focussed on three pillars on which the management of the sport of the future will be built: sustainability, leadership and inclusiveness.
As preferred supplier of the foundation and the ArenA, AVEX provided the technical facilities. A beautiful setting against the stunning backdrop of the stadium with technology that included 2 large LED walls (5×3 metres), audio support and a multi-camera direction with two manned cameras and a dome camera. A livestream connected participants from all over the world to the Johan Cruyff ArenA in Amsterdam. And a second setting was placed in the Amsterdam venue with a single camera direction.
The foundation
Sport and play are an important part of a child’s healthy development. Based on this vision, Johan Cruyff founded the Cruyff Foundation twenty-five years ago. Sport improves children’s condition, teaches them to get along with each other and contributes to their personal development. Unfortunately, not every child can easily participate in sports and games, for example due to lack of space. Through projects such as the Cruyff Courts and sports projects for children with disabilities, we give children all over the world room to play sports and be active.
